Verizon Wireless has some really attractive free cell phone offers right now that I would like to share with you. I think you’ll agree that it really doesn’t get much better than these and if you are in the market for a new phone, one of these may be the offer for you!

What we have here are the latest Smart Phones. I just got my first Smart Phone last August and I can’t believe how much I love it! The versatility and technology available with a Smart Phone is an amazing thing and I do not plan to ever be without one again.

The Verizonwireless Storm will finally be available on November 21. This is the first touchscreen BlackBerry and is anticipated to be in high demand.

The ATT Blackberry Bold is a great all-purpose Smart phone with great speed and functionality.

The Sprint Instinct phone is a new touchscreen cell phone that also sports a GPS and 2-megapixel camera.

I’d be hard-pressed to choose between these phones, but I think I’d have to go with the Blackberry Storm. The fact that it comes with 1 GB of memory, a 3.2-megapixel camera, a fully-functional web browser, as well as a removable battery make it sound like a very, very nice phone. It’s not hard to understand why they are anticipating it will be very popular.

Visit this site and choose a new Smart Phone for yourself!

We know we need to eat more fruits and vegetables for optimum health and to reduce the risk of cancer, cardiovascular problems, diabetes, and obesity. Though it sounds easy, data shows that most people don’t eat enough fruits and vegetables. Most people only eat two servings of fruits and vegetables each day even though they should eat at least five. Here’s a tip - fruits and vegetables can be canned, dried, fresh, frozen, juiced, and liquidized to count towards your five a day.

Try an omelet for breakfast filled with peppers, muchrooms, salsa, or spinach. If you like bagels, top one with fruit or a tomato slice. Apples, oranges, grapefruits, and bananas all make easy additions to breakfast. If you eat cereal or pancakes, top these with fresh fruit as well.

For lunch, tuck some cucumber slices, lettuce, onion, or tomatoes into your sandwich. For suppers, consider replacing white potatoes with sweet potatoes for a nutritional punch. Remember that bags of frozen fruits and vegetables make easy additions to your meals.

For snacking, reach for raw fruits and vegetables.
Baby carrots, cauliflower, celery, cucumber spears, or red pepper strips dipped in hummus or salad dressing are a great snack. Try grapes or raisins or a banana for a snack. Eating dried fruits like apricots, cherries, cranberries, dates, and figs will satisfy any munchie craving.

Keep fruits and vegetables visible and easily accessible. Keep a fruit bowl full of fresh and washed fruits on the kitchen counter for your family to have easy access to fruits.

Start with a salad when eating out. Substitute vegetables for fries. When at a buffet make a big salad before you eat anything else.

Don’t forget the best treat of all - smoothies! These are easily made with a wide variety of frozen fruit and milk or yogurt. Kids love these at any time of the day and they are a powerhouse of nutrients.

When you start your day thinking about how you can add fruits and vegetables into your daily routine, you will surely succeed and you will reap many positive health benefits.

This is why I decided to go searching for opportunities that would allow me to make an income while at home caring for my family. I was so happy to learn that I can actually get paid for blogging! Imagine that…doing something that I love to do and getting paid for it - all the while being at home taking care of the family and household responsibilities that I have.

There are many blogging sites out there, and I’m excited to announce that this is my first paid post for “Paying Post.” I hope that this is the beginning of a great relationship!

Various citrus essential oils will function as a natural preservative by inhibiting the activity of fungi and bacteria. Researchers exposed 11 different strains of salmonella to seven different orange essential oils.

The most effective essential oil was orange essence terpenes. The researchers examined the chemical makeup of the essential oils. They found that d-limonene composed 94 percent of the oils, with myrcene composing another 3 percent.

Researchers found that oils from grapefruit, orange, lemon and mandarin all inhibited the activity of the common food molds. Citrus essential oils might be considered suitable alternatives to chemical additives for use in the food industry. Food manufacturers have been looking for alternatives to synthetic preservatives.

It used to be a lot easier to find good quality and affordable eyeglasses for my kids - especially when they were a little younger. They weren’t quite so ummmmmm…selective…about their eyeglasses. I used to be able to steer them easily to the less expensive ones and those would be fine for them and fine for me. It worked pretty well back then.

Now that they are getting older and more discerning, purchasing eyeglasses for them has gotten to be much more difficult and painful for my pocketbook. This is why I was so happy to find Zenni Optical.

ZenniOptical is a leader in quality, low cost prescription eyeglasses that make it easy for just about anyone to find the eyeglasses they want at prices they can afford. I wondered how one earth they can afford to sell their quality eyeglasses for $8. I found out that they sell only their own manufactured frames directly to their customers with no middlemen. They also have a very low advertising budget. So…that explains that! They know how to do smart business!

These glasses are just exactly the kind of glasses my almost-12-year-old daughter would love! I so know where we are shopping for glasses next time!

They have some great looking frames that just recently arrived…so if you haven’t looked at their site lately, you really should!

Toenails grow very slowly so their nicotine concentration gives a more accurate picture of long-term exposure - including second-hand smoke.

Researchers examined toenail clippings from 62,500 nurses and found that those who had heart disease had approximately twice as much nicotine in their toenails as healthy women. Women with high nicotine concentrations were more likely to have high blood pressure, diabetes, to drink heavily, to have a family history of smoking and to be thinner than those with less nicotine.

While nicotine itself does not cause heart disease, it functions as a measure of overall tobacco exposure.

People who smoke are two times as likely to suffer a heart attack in their life time as those who don’t. Quitting smoking is one of the most effective ways to reduce this risk.

Reasons to avoid getting a flu shot:

1. First, there is no evidence that flu shots really work. The flu shot is only able to protect against specific strains of influenza. If you come into contact with a strain that you were not vaccinated from then you will still get the flu. This happens often.

2. Flu vaccines contain mercury, which is a seriously health compromising heavy metal. The amount of mercury contained in a multi-dose flu shot is 250 times higher in mercury than what is legally classified as hazardous waste.

3. The flu vaccines contain the antibiotics neomycin, polymyxin B and gentamicin. These are added to eliminate stray bacteria. These antibiotics wipe out beneficial bacteria that is needed for optimum health.

4. Vaccines contain Polysorbate 80 as an emulsifier. This ingredient can seriously lower the immune system and cause anaphylactic shock as well.

5.There is increasing evidence that flu shots cause Alzheimer’s because of the aluminum and formaldehyde combined with mercury. Some research is suggesting that people who received flu shots each year for 3 to 5 years had 10 times greater chance of developing Alzheimer’s disease than people who did not have flu shots.

6. It seems apparent that the flu shot is potentially dangerous and doesn’t make a difference anyway.

Here are some powerful ways that you can ensure you don’t get the flu this year without a toxic flu shot:

Make sure you get plenty of sunshine over the winter. Winter flu is often a result of vitamin D deficiency from lack of sun. If you live in a place without sunshine you may take cod liver oil.

Exercise! When you get your body moving you are much less likely to get sick.

Eat plenty of immune boosting foods like garlic, vitamin C containing fruits and fresh green juices.

Eliminate sugar. Sugar suppresses the immune system and causes disease.

Deal with emotional stress. Anger and stress suppress the immune system.

Get plenty of sleep. Sleep deprivation suppresses the immune system.

I think I just found the perfect gift for my granddaughter. This new system is called Little Reader and it sounds perfect for her.

BrillKids has just launched a new downloadable software tool for parents and educators who want to teach children to read in an easy, fun and efficient way. This was created for children at least four months. You can easily create flash cards using the computer as a platform to educate very young children.

Press Release:

October 23, 2008 – BrillKids Inc. announces the launch of Little Reader HOME BASIC, a downloadable software tool for parents and educators who wish to teach children to read in an easy, fun and efficient way. Suitable for children aged four months and up, Little Reader enables users to easily create flash cards, using the computer as a powerful platform with which to educate very young children. Incorporating methods developed over several decades by experts in the early learning field in their product’s functionality and design, BrillKids’ Little Reader is able to take advantage of the right-brain learning capabilities of children during the critical early years.

Following the success of their online community, BrillKids provides an answer to the needs of parents worldwide for a more convenient program with which to teach their young ones. Even with the burgeoning children’s product market filled with available educational videos, laminated flash cards, and pre-made slideshow presentations, none come close to providing complete customizable solutions for parents who want to teach their children in a more personalized way. “Little Reader is a groundbreaking program from BrillKids,” said KL Wong, CEO of BrillKids Inc. “Not only is it our very first software product to be made commercially available, it is also the project closest to my heart, having created it specifically for parents like me who could not find convenient ways with which I could create and personalize my little daughter’s flash card lessons. To know that Little Reader can put smiles on children’s faces when they see their parents’ pictures on the screen while being taught their first words about family is simply amazing.”

Helping Parents Teach Their Children to Read
Many parents have already witnessed the benefits of using the Little Reader program during the span of its three-month beta testing period. “I have thoroughly enjoyed using Little Reader - I thought I knew a lot about teaching reading to people of all ages - and particularly since I was a follower of Glenn Doman methods 40ish years ago,” said Amanda, a parent from Brazil. “That said - I have found Little Reader totally inspiring - it is very addictive, and it encourages the user to not only make use of the material provided in the program - but to create their own.”

“My kids really love Little Reader,” adds Paola from California. “This software gives my children lessons they can relate to - their own body/family/toys/pets. And the fact that people from all over the world using any language - even dialects - can come together, share concerns and experiences, give one another support, and contribute to the whole is absolutely amazing. I can honestly say that I don’t know of any other software that is as versatile, meaningful and enjoyable as Little Reader.”

Making it Easy for the Busy Parent
BrillKids also offers hundreds of free additional learning library files which Little Reader users can simply download through their online community – a balm for parents who do not have the time to create their own content.

“In my very busy schedule as a working mother, I found Little Reader to be perfect teaching tool,” says Jane from South Carolina. “This program saves me so much time in preparing my teaching materials because it’s just so easy to use, turning ‘lesson time’ into ‘bonding time’ for my little Alyssa. The free additional library files are also fantastic – it’s so convenient to just download what I want, when I want them.”

Created by Parents for Parents
An overwhelming number of requests from parents worldwide spurred the creation of Little Reader, and BrillKids made it a point to take the development of this software closer to the hearts of those who inspired it to fruition through its customer-oriented forefront throughout the three-month beta testing period. The company took all suggestions and comments from an international pool of beta testers and integrated functions to satisfy what real parents need from an educational software program for young children.

Little Reader’s release brings the company closer to their aims of enhancing the quality of life for parents and parents-to-be, helping them give their child the gift of early literacy.

All spices add flavor to our foods. However here is a list of spices that are particularly abundant in health benefits. Adding them to the foods you prepare and eat will help reduce free radical damage and combat the aging process.

Cinnamon – Cinnamon has insulin-like qualities. Studies have shown that just 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon a day can help lower the risk of metabolic syndrome – high blood cholesterol, triglyceride and glucose levels – by up to 30 percent.

Cinnamon is anti-microbial and can stop the growth of bacteria, fungi and yeast. Cinnamon has anti-clotting and anti-inflammatory properties. Cinnamon also boosts brain function.

Ginger – Ginger has been shown to significantly aid with nausea, vomiting, and morning sickness. It also helps to prevent motion sickness. It is a powerful antioxidant, and is thought to relax blood vessels, stimulate blood flow and relieve pain. It is a common digestive aid.

Oregano – Thymol and carvacrol are two of oregano’s potent antibacterial properties. Oregano works in the intestinal tract to kill unfriendly bacteria without damage to the friendly bacteria. It has 4 times the antioxidant activity of blueberries.

Rosemary – In winter put a rosemary bush inside the house to be a natural air cleaner and freshener. Rosemary stops gene mutations that could lead to cancer.

Turmeric – This Indian spice is one of nature’s most powerful healers. It acts as effectively as drugs like hydrocortisone, phenylbutazone and Motrin. It is helpful with inflammatory bowel diseases, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, cystic fibrosis, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

Garlic – Garlic destroys cancer cells and may disrupt the metabolism of tumor cells. Studies show that two cloves of garlic weekly provide cancer-protective benefits.

Garlic appears to protect the heart as well. Garlic is commonly known as preventative and treatment for the common cold.

Sage – Sage may fight rheumatoid arthritis, bronchial asthma and atherosclerosis. It appears to promote better brain function.

Red chili peppers – These peppers contain capsaicin, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound that helps relieve pain.

Coriander – This herb is effective against swelling, high cholesterol levels, diarrhea, mouth ulcers, anemia, digestion, menstrual disorders, conjunctivitis, and skin disorders.

Parsley – Parsley is a cancer fighter. Animal studies have shown that parsley inhibits tumor formation, particularly in the lungs.
