A Windsor University biochemist was interested to note that patients who were drinking dandelion tea were recovering from cancer.

The scientist decided to research by studying leukemia blood samples with dandelion root extract. He found that the leukemia cells were forced into apoptosis — cell suicide.

Even non-cancerous cells were left alone. This means that the dandelion root extract targeted only the cancer cells. This is a huge difference between dandelion root and chemotherapy pharmaceuticals, which kill everything in their paths.

The scientists have applied for Canadian authorization to proceed with clinical trials. Be forewarned, however, this research could quietly disappear unless Big Pharma manages to synthetically reproduce dandelion’s cancer fighting properties

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is the largest humanitarian network on earth. This entity has taken an official stand in open opposition to the war on drugs…insisting on a massive drug policy reform.

According to officials within the organization, criminalization of drug use is not the solution to the worldwide drug abuse epidemic. A better answer would be rational and humanitarian drug policies to instigate positive and permanent change.

A common issue is the problems created because current drug policies force drug users into hiding — out of the public scrutiny. Drug users will find a way to get drugs with or without state approval of them. So instead, it is important to focus on helping instead of criminalizing and incarcerating people with drug abuse problems.

Instead of threatening drug users with prison, fines and discrimination, lawmakers should use proactive interventions that will remove the negative stigma of drug use.

The International Journal of Oncology has a study that shows the positive effects of dandelion leaf tea.

Dandelion leaf tea can decrease breast cancer cells.

In addition, dandelion root tea creates a “kill switch” on leukemia cell receptors.

A 2011 report indicates that preparations containing dandelion as one ingredient can suppress the growth of prostate cancer cells.

Dandelion root extract can induce apoptosis in human drug-resistant melanoma cells, leaving healthy cells untouched.

When you have enough understanding to know that you want to avoid consuming GMOs, you might think this is all you need to avoid them. Think again…GMOs are in EVERYthing…and food labels don’t tell us enough.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Oh.) has introduced a bill in the current congressional session — H.R. 3553. There are 21 co-sponsors to date. Your help is needed to get this passed into law.

To date, the federal government is preventing all public and private efforts to implement food transparency. Consumers cannot know the origin of the ingredients in food products. The federal government also continues to ignore independent science on these issues.

Consider this:

The first generation of humans eating predominantly genetically modified foods hasn’t reached reproductive age yet…these are the kids born in the late 1990s. If studies are any indication, this generation should anticipate an epidemic of cancer, food allergies, sterility, learning disabilities and birth defects.

Sure, every gardener is well acquainted with potting soil, but this stuff is DIFFERENT. How? Well…

	1. You can expect flowers and vegetables up to three times their normal size than when you use native soil

2. Expand ‘n Gro also significantly improves your soil for a number of years

3. Save money because this concentrated planting mix expands up to 3 times its size after you add water. The planting mix has sponge?like compressed coir mixed in with the potting soil when water is added. Coir improves moisture control and bulk density of the planting mix.

4. Forget about fertilizing…Expand ‘n Gro feeds plants for up to six months

5. The all natural fibers in this planting mix hold up to 50 percent more water than standard potting
soil

I am eagerly anticipating the sample that Miracle-Gro is sending me. Sound cool? Well, you can receive your own sample thanks to the giveaway. Post a comment to this blog post and you can receive your own sample!

Authorities are calling it a “grime wave” but the pun doesn’t explain why theft of the laundry detergent appears to be sweeping the nation.

According to reports, a St. Paul, Minn. man was caught last year after stealing $25,000 worth of the laundry detergent. The thefts have caused retailers to increase security measures to protect inventories. Some municipalities have created special task forces to learn about the situation. A recent sting in Maryland revealed more Tide than cocaine. Police report that it was an organization that would hit four to five stores a day, stealing Tide.

A former FBI special agent offers this explanation.

A drug dealer may be better able to exchange Tide for drugs and then resell the Tide. On the black market, Tide sells for about 50 percent of its average retail price. A spokesman for the Philadelphia-based Checkpoint Systems guesses that Tide has been chosen by criminals because the name brand is recognizable and relatable by consumers. With the bright orange outer packaging and the bright blue lettering, it’s easy to resell on a secondary market.

I always tease my husband because he absolutely refuses to use bookmarks and instead, he uses tabs in the same way that most NORMAL people use bookmarks. It’s not uncommon for him to have a hundred or more tabs going at one time. You can imagine his angst if his browser crashes. It isn’t pretty…let me tell you.

Are you a heavy bookmark user?I am…my problem is that I am not always sure that I want to save something as a permanent bookmark. So…my solution is to create a few special folders inside my bookmarks where I will temporarily stash links that I want to come back to for further reading.

I was really excited to hear about clipix . It’s a free service. All you have to do is visit their website, drag the app to your bookmark toolbar and then get surfing. Whenever you see something that you want to make sure you can come back to, just click the clipix button on your toolbar. Select the clipboard where you want to stow away the link and there it will sit until you come back to check it out again. It really couldn’t be easier.

Here’s a screenshot of one of my clipboards. I do a lot of surfing for quilt patterns, so this is a great way for me to keep track of projects I want to try. Oh, if you’re wondering. You can choose to share your clipboards or keep them private — totally up to you!

Women with a genetic predisposition to breast cancer — as in women with a mother or grandmother diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime — are probably looking for any way to enhance their odds of staying healthy. As it turns out, there is a direct relationship between those at risk of breast cancer and a woman’s diet.

A study shows that there is a higher ratio of women that were identified as having breast cancer if they ate a common unhealthy diet. This unhealthy diet includes ones that are rich in red meats and refined grains. Women who adopt diets that are rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains are less likely to contract breast cancer.

Not only can a raw food diet increase a woman’s chances of avoiding breast cancer, but specific raw foods can also minimize many of the negative effects of chemotherapy. Wheat grass juice consumption has been shown to be effective in a reduction of the necessary doses required.
