Cordless Phones, Wi-Fi and Other High-Frequency Electromagnetic Radiation Cause Cancer

Posted by on Nov 29 2011 | New Health Discoveries

High-frequency electromagnetic radiation (EMR) can increase cancer risk.

EMR is a toxin that you can see or feel. Erroneous studies assert that current EMR exposure levels are safe. The US government has even gone so far as to establish faulty guidelines for EMR exposure. It purports safe levels to be thousands of times higher than what scientists have proven to be safe. In fact, studies reveal that current amounts of EMR from towers and antennas drastically alter the body’s cellular processes — causing cancer and other diseases. The amount of radiation that we are exposed to doubles annually.

New cell towers are built every day. Most folks living in cities have between 30-100 microwave towers/antennas within four miles of their homes. These towers emit electromagnetic fields linked to cancer.

Dangers lurk inside the home, too. Wi-Fi routers, baby monitors, and cordless phones give off high-frequency radiation linked to cancer. Cordless phones emit the same amount of radiation as a cell phone. Wi-Fi routers are also dangerous.

Puppies or Babies?

Posted by on Nov 14 2011 | Generally Awesome

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Puppies vs. Babies for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Got any cute puppies or babies around the house? Got an opinion about which is cuter? Of course you do! Everyone does!

As for me…I’m gonna go with babies. Why? Because I’ve had plenty of those and I don’t currently have any puppies around. My 16 month old blows any old puppy away, anyway. She’s cute with an attitude…what could be better than that??

Now’s your chance to vote in the Puppies vs. Babies online contest  . Consider the two  – Puppies vs. Babies  — and decide which you prefer. After you make up your mind, head over to the online contest and register your vote. You have from right this minute until November 23rd to vote. Get going, now…the winning puppy or baby will win $5,000!

It’s too late to enter the contest, but it’s not too late to vote. I wish I had known about this contest before, because I’m quite sure that this picture of my princess would have been in the running.

Don’t you agree?

Post a comment here and let us all know who you’re voting for!

Vitamin C Treatment for Heart Failure

Posted by on Nov 14 2011 | Natural Health, New Health Discoveries

Heart failure is an oft-deadly condition that occurs when the heart can’t pump an adequate amount of oxygen and blood throughout the body. Symptoms include fatigue, appetite reduction, fluid build-up and kidney failure. Shortness of breath also happens when blood accumulates behind the heart. This leads to increased fluid in the lungs.

Heart failure has no cure. Some medications and lifestyle changes can help people live longer. Sometimes heart failure patients need heart transplants.

There’s a new treatment that might help heart failure patients. No, it’s not any type of surgery even a prescription. It’s vitamin C.

Heart failure patients with low vitamin C intake were over two times more likely to have higher levels of high sensitivity C-Reactive protein (hsCRP) — a marker for inflammation and a risk factor for heart disease.

Because inflammation is a significant symptom in heart failure, and a lack of vitamin C could make inflammation worse. By taking in adequate vitamin C, you may be able to significantly lessen inflammation and thereby lessen heart failure.

Pack it and Keep it Cold with Packits

Posted by on Nov 08 2011 | Generally Awesome

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of PackIt for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you pack a lunch for someone near and dear day after day? Are you tired of struggling with ice packs that don’t keep the food cold for a long enough period? Don’t worry — that’s the cool thing about technology — it’s here to solve so many different issues!

Instead of using tired old ice packs, try  PackIt lunch boxes to keep lunches ice cold.

PackIt stays cold for up to 10 hours and it fits conveniently in your freezer. After finishing your nice, cool lunch, just neatly fold the bag up until you can get home to put it back in the freezer again.

This is a non-toxic, PVC and lead-free ice option so use it without worries!

One of my big pet peeves is the water we take along with us when we’re out and about — it gets warm and I hate that! It makes me want to buy cold water, but that’s such a waste of money. If we packed out water in Packits, it would stay nice and cold while we’re out doing whatever.

How do you feel about BOGO? Stupid question, I know. Here’s the thing…head over to the Packit website right now because they’re offering a deal where you can buy one Packit for $19.95 and you get a second one totally free!

Do me a favor…post a comment for how you would use a PackIt and why you think it would totally blow away a tired old lunch bag!

Gingerroot Lowers Digestive Inflammation

Posted by on Nov 01 2011 | Natural Health, New Health Discoveries

Ginger has a long history of being effective at alleviating gastrointestinal distress. Modern research reveals that ginger has numerous properties, including antioxidant effects and direct anti-inflammatory effects. New research demonstrates the anti-inflammatory action of ginger on the colon.

Include ginger in the diet to dramatically lower inflammatory risk markers for colon cancer. One such marker, known as PGE2, is a naturally occurring prostaglandin. PGE2 usually induces fever and is important for determining inflammatory levels in the body. Inflammation has been implicated as a precursor to colon cancer. Gingerroot supplementation lowers blood levels of the prostaglandin to reduce colon cancer risks.
