Nashville Woman Arrested for Protecting Daughter from TSA

Posted by on Aug 02 2011 | Uncategorized

Andrea Fornella Abbott told TSA agents that she did not want her daughter to be “touched inappropriately…” Following this exchange, police arrested her for disorderly conduct and took her to jail.

Abbott refused the X-ray machine for herself and her daughter and then began challenging the line that naked body scanners are 10,000 times safer than cell phones.

Reports do not indicate the daughter’s age. If she was under the age of six, she was not even eligible for an enhanced pat down.

The US Constitution protects all air travelers from being poked and prodded as part of the TSA’s enhanced security methods under the heading of unreasonable search and invasion of privacy set forth in the Fourth Amendment.
