Happiness is an Important Factor in Your Good Health

Posted by User Imageadmin on May 20 2008 | To Your Great Health!

Science is now recognizing that happiness and peace are keys to optimum health.

Researchers have now documented the fact that the happiness of Americans and many Europeans has been declining despite an increase in overall material wealth.

Everyday we learn new things about how we can be healthier through diet, super foods, and exercise. Without authentic happiness, however, we remain at greater risk for developing illness and disease.

There is actually a science of happiness. The bottom line is that happiness can help us experience less stress and better health and longevity. Everyone needs to think about what can make us truly fulfilled, peaceful, and happy.

Interesting Site for Political Discussion

Posted by User Imageadmin on May 20 2008 | All Inclusive

I found an interesting site today that some may be interested in checking out. It is an article repository complete with on-going discussions about alternative government, no government, and alternative currency ideas.

If the idea of a Stateless Society appeals to you, then come and read this site. This site is full of real discussion of political and social options for society.

The mission of the contributors to this site is a world community without enemy and without war. They condemn violence of any sort and aspire to a “need based” society instead of a “greed based” society.

They believe in a birthright of individual liberty, free of State coercion. They recognize the moral and spiritual crisis facing mankind at this time and are dedicated to working for solutions.

Ideas and participation in the site are welcome and there is even a forum where readers can give and take ideas and information.

I don’t have a lot of personal experience or knowledge about a lot of these beliefs, so I was eager and interested to do some reading. I learned a lot and I can honestly say that there was not a whole lot I disagreed with. They have some very valid points that deserve voice.

I would encourage you to take a look. It’s enlightening.

Aerobic Exercise Improves Memory

Posted by User Imageadmin on May 20 2008 | New Health Discoveries, To Your Great Health!

By boosting your heart and lung power with aerobic fitness and you may also end up with a more ?fit? mind.

This is the conclusion of a recent review of studies by researchers from the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The report concludes that just as aerobic physical exercise will improve your cardiovascular fitness and also contributes to healthy aging of the body, it also helps boost brain power in older people.

Exercise can boost cognitive processing speed, motor function and even visual and auditory attention in healthy older people. That?s especially good news because around age 50 many people start to experience occasional memory lapses or ?senior moments?. This, along with a reduced ability to pay close attention to a task, can be troublesome.

Improvements in cognition as a result of improvements in cardiovascular fitness are explained by improvements in cerebral blood flow which leads to increased brain metabolism which then stimulates the production of neurotransmitters and formation of new synapses.
