I found a great website today that provides people with information about credit cards, credit scores, credit reports, and much more. You can read articles about credit cards, ask credit-related questions and receive answers! This site is a one-stop source for all of the information you need about your credit. Whether you need a credit bureau to check your credit report or are shopping for a new credit card, this is a great site to check out for great information.

Press Release:

When people decide to get a credit card, they don’t know whether the need credit coverage or not. They say that you never need credit insurance until you need it. The fact is that people don’t want to pay for insurance, but they are sure glad they have it when they need it.
Unfortunately, our life is unpredictable and we don’t know what can happen tomorrow. For example, you lose your job or become disabled and unable to work? All these things can damage your financial life.
Fortunately, there is a kind of insurance that will protect your good credit history in such situations. It is called credit protection coverage or credit insurance. The fact is that this credit protection coverage pays your bills for you in case you become disabled or unable to work. If you die, this insurance will cover your debts in full.
There are some kinds of credit protection coverage: credit life, unemployment, disability and property. For example, unemployment insurance will make your payments in case you get laid off from your job.
Of course, it’s up to you to decide whether you need credit insurance or not. It goes without saying that you don’t want to pay for this service. However, it can be worth if you can’t earn money to pay your bills anymore.

USDA Renews Approval of Non-Organic Ingredients Contained in “Organic” Foods

Posted by User Imageadmin on May 07 2008 | Uncategorized

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has renewed its approval for 46 non-organically produced substances that are used in foods and beverages labeled “organic.” The USDA’s National Organic Standards Board is required to renew approval every five years for any non-organic ingredients that are allowed in organic foods.

The products renewed include five agricultural non-organic products and 41 non-agricultural, non-organic products.

The agricultural produced products are cornstarch, kelp, pectin, unbleached lecithin and water extracted gums. Some of these are not individual products, but are categories.

The 41 allowed non-agricultural products include common ingredients such as citric and lactic acid; calcium carbonate; calcium chloride; carnauba wax; bakers, brewers or nutritional yeast; dairy cultures; flavors; sodium carbonate; glycerin; mono- and diglycerides; and xanthan gum.

The USDA withdrew its approval, however, for colors derived from non-synthetic sources and for potassium tartrate derived from tartaric acid.

The organic industry is the fastest-growing agriculture sector in the United States. Retail revenues have risen 20 to 24 percent each year since 1990. They are expected to reach nearly $24 billion by 2010.

Many Major Lipstick Brands Contain Lead

Posted by User Imageadmin on May 07 2008 | Uncategorized

More than half of all major brand-name lipsticks may contain lead according to recent tests conducted by an independent laboratory.

Thirty-three brand-name red lipsticks were purchased in Boston, San Francisco, Minneapolis and Hartford, Connecticut and tested for lead. 61 percent of these contained lead in detectable amounts. One-third of the lipsticks tested contained lead in concentrations higher than 0.1 ppm (the cutoff point set by the FDA for lead in candy).

According to the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, lead in lipstick is just as directly ingested into the body as lead in candy. Lead is a potent neurotoxin that has been shown to cause mental damage. It is particularly dangerous to a developing organism and can cross the placenta, placing children and pregnant women at very high risk.

The brands with the highest lead concentrations were L’Oreal’s Colour Riche “True Red” and “Classic Wine.” Next came Cover Girl’s Incredifull Lipcolor “Maximum Red” and Dior Addict’s “Positive Red”.

Tests show it is possible to make lipstick without lead. Thirty-nine percent of lipsticks tested had no detectable levels of lead and cost doesn’t seem to be a factor. Some less expensive brands such as Revlon ($7.49) had no detectable levels of lead, and the more expensive Dior Addict brand ($24.50) had higher levels.

Lead in cosmetics is particularly dangerous because daily use can cause the toxins to build up in the body.

Repeated, daily exposures to low levels of lead will add up. They add up in addition to lead from paint and drinking water.
