In my wanderings around the ‘net today, I happened upon an interesting column written by Carrol Vertrees of the Post-Tribune. Her subject is raw milk and she’s got an interesting take on it.

As an adult, she consumes pasteurized milk, but as a child raised on a farm, she drank raw milk…and lives to tell about it!

It’s an entertaining column and I think you might enjoy it. She closes by saying:

“I won’t get emotional over this issue, but it seems to me that if there is a constitutional amendment that allows us to carry guns and buy weapons that have no socially redeeming use, there ought to be a raw milk amendment.”

My family and I live in a state where we are fortunate to be able to drink raw milk and we do so. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found a source and I drive about 30 miles once a week to pick up our milk. Since making the switch to raw from pasteurized our health has improved 100-fold and we would never go back to drinking pasteurized, homogenized dairy products.
