There certainly are many “cides” to the story when it comes to food production. Nowadays food production includes many different “cides” such as pesticides, fungicides, insecticides and herbicides. Now we’ve included the possibility of genocide.

For what it’s worth, the word suffix “cide” means something is being killed. Makes you think that perhaps genocide isn’t really as dramatic as at first appears????
